Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine Book Cover

Fire of the Goddess Guest Speaker: Katalin Koda The focus of this evening is Pele, the fire goddess of the Big Island of Hawaii known as the fire bearer, the one who carries the fires of creation and destruction. Join us for our monthly Women’s Community Group led by Katalin Koda, author of Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine and Sacred Path of Reiki: Healing as a Spiritual Discipline. Katalin has recently moved to Portland after spending the last fifteen years living, studying and practicing healing and ceremonial arts in India and Hawai’i. As a leader of women’s circles, retreats and workshops for the last seventeen years, she will be sharing her gifts which activate our inner sacred feminine including circling, storytelling, shamanic journeywork and co~creating ceremony. In our circle, we will tune in and activate our own inner fires, clearing the old and making a blazing new path for our inner authentic selves to shine brightly. This circle serves as a seed for Katalin’s upcoming Fire of the Goddess Series which will focus on a particular Goddess archetype each month following the themes of Power, Love and Wisdom. This series is inspired by Katalin’s book, Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine and will meet on the third Wednesdays of the month starting on September 17th at Healing Waters and Sacred Spaces. You can find more information about Katalin at www.KatalinKoda.com andwww.FireoftheGoddess.com

Pele Fire Goddess

Month One: Pele, the Fire Bearer In our opening power circle, we journey with Pele, the fire Goddess of Hawai’i. Through the epic myth of Pele’s journey from her homeland to find Hawai’i, we explore the archetype of the Fire Bearer. During this circle, like Pele, we search inside to find and reclaim our own inner powerful flame and the place that is capable of receiving our light. We will practice shamanic journeywork to the Lower World to retrieve messages of power. Connecting to the element of fire, we will create ceremony that honors burning away the old and creating the new. Fire of the Goddess, A Nine Month Journey is an opportunity to dive deep into the power, love and wisdom of the Sacred Feminine. Inspired by her book, Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine, Katalin Koda is leading a monthly women’s group on a journey through nine potent archetypes of the goddess. Each circle will be themed around a goddess and her archetype. By exploring the various aspects of the divine feminine we will discover and activate our fullest potential as women embodying spirit. How does the Fire of the Goddess Nine Month Journey work? Each circle uses the tools of the sacred feminine to not only explore the archetypes and goddesses, but to powerfully activate them in our lives. Specific tools include: sacred breathwork and movement exploring archetypes and sacred feminine goddesses from around the world shamanic journeywork using sound and the drum storytelling and mythmaking creating ceremony Together we will create a ceremony every month and you will learn in depth the art of creating ceremony which will include: setting an intention creating altars and sacred space connecting to the elements…

Fire Offering Ceremony

Month Three: Artemis, the Warrioress In our final circle of power, we journey with Artemis, the archetype of the great female Warrioress and huntress of ancient Greek times.  Unlike other Greek goddesses, Artemis’ name has deeper roots, in an even more ancient culture of the sacred feminine which connects her to the dark mother goddess.  This circle will provide information on the ancient Goddess and her-story, a reclaiming of the earth stories from the women’s perspective based on Katalin’s two decades of research. Using shamanic journeywork, we retrieve a power animal and embody our animal through a power dance using the sound of drums and rattles. We also continue our work on creating ceremony, developing our connections between the elements of air, fire, water and earth with the four cardinal directions as well as using breath to connect us more deeply to the earth as our mother.
